Richmond: The Beauty of Art

Like fashion, art is just another form of expression. This by far is my favorite painting they just completed in the city of Richmond. I love and appreciate the artists and the city I'm currently living in!

Phases of Flair: Bianca Flair

My new internship at Richmond, Va's new thrift shop Bianca Flair has allowed me to grow and I haven't even been working there for a month! This photo shoot was my first one where I did many aspects solo. I'm not a photographer or photograph editor but this past photo shoot has allowed me to evolve in my craft in more ways than one. All it took was me, my camera, and a model. I thank store owner Kimberly Newsome for supporting and allowing me the opportunity to officially let the world see what I can do! Special thanks to the model, VCU rising junior and Fashion Merchandise major,Victoria Sterling as well. It was her first photo shoot and you would have never been able to tell. With her poise, confidence, and bubbly attitude it led me to believe that I not only chose a perfect fit for the store but for my portfolio as well. She shows girls you don't have to be super thin to wear different looks. She is the what the average woman is and want to see, with a dash of just gorgeousness. I hope all you reading stay tuned for what's in store, this is only a fabulous start to a fashionable ride!

Outfit Post: Cow Girl meets Chic

I am the new Wardrobe Stylist intern for Richmond, Va's new consignment shop Bianca Flair! For my first in store assignment, Bianca Flair Public Relations Intern Lisa Newton and I held a mini photo shoot with some of the items in the store. I will be posting mostly weekly on some new outfit treasure we discover in the store. In the mean time here I am wearing my own high low skirt paired with a Bianca Flair cowboy inspired button up. I have paired it with the cutest red cowboy boots I found in Bianca Flair as well. Lately a lot of my friends and families have been going to country concerts and asking me what was best to wear. This is a great concert wearing style! I loved having this opportunity to show off some of my styling skills, next is to find some models other than myself to bring magic to the clothes as well, stay tuned...

Lifestyle Content: Fashionista Jenn does Maymont Park

This past weekend I visited Richmond, Virginia's Maymont Park. Maymont was given to the public by the married couple, James Henry an Sallie Dooley who loved here form 1893 through 1925. They wanted their land to be preserved so that new generations could enjoy it as much as they did, and enjoy is exactly what I did! If your ever in Richmond, be sure to take a tour through Tiffany filled artwork and french Baroque architecture, stroll through the Italian and Japanese gardens filled with beautiful butterflies, and discover the wildlife exhibits, home to many animals! For once I had to sport some sneakers, but it was well worth it!

From the Tiffany stained glass to the famous-swan shaped bed, the mansion at Maymont gives guests a personal glimpse into the lives and loves of the Dooleys.

What does this have to do with fashion you ask? Fashion is a form of art and the Dooley's Maymont is nothing but. Mr. Dooley's father was the owner of Tiffany & Co., because of it the house is adorned in Tiffany.
  • Silver and narwhal tusk ivory dressing table and chair by Tiffany and Company, 1905, in the Viking or Celtic revival style
  • "Jack-in-the-Pulpit" vase by L. C. Tiffany, 1908
  • Tiffany Studios stained glass window, approx. 15' x 10'
  • Tiffany and Company annular clock depicting the toilet of Venus
  • Tiffany and Company minute-repeater time piece
  • Tiffany and Company mantel clock
  • Silver Tiffany and Company commemorative cup, 1904
My favorite piece would have to be the swan bedroom in Mrs. Dooley's bedroom, which was a set designed by Neuman and Co. of NY, ca 1910. Be sure to check out out more on the Maymont Website. Thanks Austin Ahouissoussi for the wonderful trip!
