STICKS IN KICKS

Hey Guys,

Today I'm excited to share my new discovery... wait for it... yes, sneakers! Big shocker I know - but for those who know me know that finding me in a pair of Nike sneakers is like finding a seat on a Manhattan bound 9AM J train. RARE! Wondering what made me finally break? Well it was the sneaker king himself - Kith owner/founder Ronnie Fieg that hooked me up with the new Nike Air Presto Ultra Fly Knit I'm sporting in today's post!

While working in fashion public relations you start to realize you're not officially a PR girl until you work an event front door and about two weeks ago I was working the hottest door yet; the Kith x Nike Pop Up in the middle of SoHo. Unfortunately - rookie mistake I showed up to work the event wearing Dr. Martens to a Nike event. oops. So I'd love to say I was gifted the sneaks but it was more like put these on in 5 minutes or die kind of situation.

But minor mistakes in your early career can create even bigger realizations. As I stepped my foot into what seemed like pillows on my feet - I realized sneakers were your friends. No longer was I just a publicist for New York's center of sneaker culture heaven, Kith - I was now SOLD too!

This week I found in between a heavy workload and a humid New York Summer, today's outfit post is my new found way of dressing on the go for both work and the city in style. Seriously - I've knocked off about 2-3 minutes on my daily morning walks to the train ever since I started wearing these shoes alone.  I don't know what it is - but this particular pair has a support that puts an extra spring in your step.

Also - Special shout out to Laura Kepus at Turner PR for hitting a home run and scoring me this awesome Yankees Cap from 47 Brand that's my new go to cap - love! And if you haven't check out the Kith x Nike Pop Up shop in SoHo I suggest you do so ASAP - be sure to treat yourself with KITH treats while you're there. You're welcome in advance!

Rad Plaid

Happy Monday Fashionistas! I hope the start to your week was just as productive as mine. I started my day out at 6:30 am to get in a good work out and meet with my career advisor. I'm trying to get into the habit of waking up early and achieving a lot more productivity. "Remember you have as many hours in a day as Beyonce." Today's look was inspired by my hectic schedule as a Editor-at-Large, fashion contributor, blogger and a student. I'm required to dress for all roles throughout the week. My cool sneaks get me where I need on time, my socks help with the change in weather and this jacket is just simply rad and makes me look amazing at my editorial meetings. Thus inspiring today's look name, Rad Plaid.

Casual Prep

Today on the blog is another peek into my room. Here I'm just wearing a nice casual look. I paired a white tank, with denim ripped jeans and my fave leopard print booties. My necklace is vintage passed down to from my grandmother. This just might be the most relaxed look you'll see me in possibly? Ha. These pictures were taken in my room and they were taken in a relaxed state of mind. The best way to play up such a relaxed look is to pair it with some fun and expecting shoes; whether they match or not. It adds an element of fun and livens up your look while still keeping it casual. The plaid adds a hint of prep. Hope you enjoy the look and be sure to scroll on to see where you can find how to create this look!

Summer Cookouts 101: Reusing your Beach Cover up

REUSING YOUR BEACH COVER UP
Hi Fashionistas! Jenn here giving you the scoop on how to bring the heat in your near summer outfits without letting the actual heat get to you!

Today I attended a cookout. It was extremely hot out and I wanted to find a way to have less clothes on without looking completely naked. I was on my way to a cookout so I didn't want to show too much skin. My outfit choices consisted of a graphic tank dress which I turned into a tank top and tucked into my high waist shorts.

I have legs for days and it seems these days no store makes regular shorts without cutting off all the material in the back leaving too much cheeks out for my liking. So I wore a beach cover up to conceal the back of my shorts. Although I achieved a goddess like look walking down the street and my cover up draping behind me, the wind was still exposing the back of shorts more than I liked so I tied the front.

After tying the front I was covered up in all the right places but still able to let my skin breathe! I paired my outfit with a vintage cameo necklace, fun hot pink wedges, a Coach wristlet and a rose gold Marc Jacobs watch.

Looking to recreate this look? No worries, Fashionista Jenn has you covered and all items less than $50! Except for the Marc Jacobs watch... I mean it's Marc Jacobs!

Mean Girls: 10th Year Anniversary

I can't believe it's been 10 years since mark Water's Mean Girls came to theaters! The movie known to be a classic girl's favorite movie has us always remembering to wear pink on Wednesdays and telling others who can and cannot sit with us. Check out how I wear my pink this Wednesday and pay respect to one of my fave films ever!

This look is a classic 2000's look. A knit cropped sweater with a mini is a for sure way to invited to lunch with the Plastics! But if your looking to update this look to this decade, pair a nude color heel to go from high school to college! Regina George Approved!
